^ you can't refer to a pack that is given to you over 2nd hand.

You only can refer to sites where the art is originally given for free > Sites of common respect and acceptance like IGN, gamewallpapers.com for gameart for example or certain sites which provide you with celebwallpapers or very big comicart communities, etc.
Or you go directly to homepages of certain celebrities or games or you go to the deviantART page of an artist and download stuff that has been declared as 100% free stuff for common usage (You'll find this most of the time in the description text of the brushset, C4D, C4Dpack... of the deviant who provides the art if it is allowed to be used by public or not).

All I say is that if I would use pics from packs I would download them from ppl I personally trust (like emerio or INXS). These guys are long enough into business to know what's allowed and what not. You minimize the risk that's all but you cannot officially refer to a packmaker

thanks for this mate i was getting fond of deviant stocks and i observed they always like to be credited in everyway... i understand them... but then,sometimes sharing your art is a great thing to do. without anything in return. for me it's expressing yourself...
for those who claim they did the art eventhough they didn't... SHAME on those^^

well according to ookami's post, INXS as well as almost every single stock pack maker out there, did in fact rip. did any of them ask the origional photogropher or model for permission? hell no, if you had access to ask any of the famous people in stocks if its ok, then you wouldnt ask about stocks, you would talk to the person about them because they are so famous. it is fanart because the stocks are of people or places that others admire that they will most likely never see in real life.

and refferring to the minor rip cases, such as the accidental rip cases. is it really even worth it to make a topic? just pm the person, dont ruin their gfx career because you want to look cool for reporting an accidental stock or c4d rip.

and i guess i could make a seperate thread about it, but to mainly pr, selling of resources is retarded and quite selfish. just share it with everyone so everyone benefits, and youll cut down on the amount of topics started over unpayed auctions blah blah blah.
