Hey GSA, I've been coming to this site off and on for a while, some of you might remember me but only just a few Anyways I've been thinking about college and what I want to do as a career, I'm just now going to be a Junior in high school but I want to start thinking about this early.

Here's my question, is a Web Design career field right for me? I'm going into my second year of Web Design classes when school starts back up but I know it's nothing like college. All we do is basic sites in a 20 year old Dreamweaver program, like a black background a few pictures and some text... I'm more advanced in my class, which isn't saying much but I get the liberty to design the Schools website myself. Anyways the reason I'm asking is because I don't feel I'm good enough for this career field even though I enjoy sigging and making layouts.

Here's the only example I haven't deleted, it's a layout I made for a friends game :p I haven't sliced the img or anything so here's a link.

it looks good, but designing web pages is more than just drawing it out on photoshop, i love making web pages and i have had no schooling on web pages, but if you like it and thinks it fun, then its probably right for you, just practice!

I cant really say is web desgin for you cause only you can : )
If you enjoy it and are willing to work at it then yeah it is for you : )
You should try creating your own website and use websites like www.awardspace.co.uk to host them : )

Another useful website is www.bravehost.com as it has a built in ftp : )

webdesign is great , but remember the most websites are pretty complicated

just browse around the net , and ask yourself some questions :

- Can I rebuild something like that ?

- Do I have the patience to do it ?

- What do I really wanna do in the future (40 years long) ?

the future if you want a job is Oracle or something familiar (google it)
