Rainbow

I have a sig that I really want to put a rainbow into, in a vector style. The sig is all pentool, but I'm having a really hard time getting the rainbow to look right with just the pentool.

Any tips on how to make one in an easier way using the pentool?

I made a quick tutorial to show you my method but for some reason it won't let me upload it here, keeps saying it's not an image, which is strange seeing as it's a jpeg. Anyway I uploaded it to deviantART instead.
So here it is, hope it helps.
It's the same method I used to create the discs in my current.
