My step-dad owns a remodeling and electrical business back home. He wants me to make him a new business card. I'm wracking my brain here, trying to find some good ideas to use as the background for this card. I've been searching all afternoon, but everything I come up with I eventually decide looks too cheesy to put on a business card. So, I figured I'd turn to the best GFX community I know for ideas and suggestions. The only real background information I have to provide is, his forte is electrical work, and is just now progressing into remodeling as well. His current card is atrocious, half white, with a hand that fades into the other half, that appears to be holding some sort of flame in it's palm. Lame... Thanks in advance for any suggestions! __________________ |

I thought of that, but it just didn't seem to suit it very well. Now I'm more leaning towards something like some sort of electrician's tools in the background, or something like that...idk. __________________ |

Businesspeople prefer functionality over flair 99 per cent of the time. Keep it crisp. Add a lightning bolt or something to the logo if you feel like it needs pop, but any special effects should be focused on the logo and used very, very sparingly. Ask him if you need specifics on what flies and what doesn't. |
