My first time trying to smudge

Ill emphasise and the word 'TRYING' : )
I tried to smudge , and it might of been better if i used a tut.
Doesnt seem to look as good as i hoped : /
But o well : )
Yeah its my first attempt at smudging and they arent really finished : )

Two versions :

How could i improve and what could be added to them ?
Just remember i wasnt aiming to make an amazing peice i just wanted to try smudging : )

it's not bad but try some variety in your smudging, I think you need to work on small details... also why'd u post three threads?

its not bad, try to blend the render into the background more and try different brushes for smudging

try using different brushes and changing the smudge settings around a bit.

Yeah try blending it in a bit more, and throw some more colours in there and smudge them around a bit to get more depth. Also I'd decrease the canvas size. Keep it up.
